Bespoke boardroom table in listed timber framed barn conversion

The client, a leading supplier of consultancy and training to worldwide banks and financial institutions wanted a beautiful bespoke boardroom table and matching credenza that would accurately convey their modern dynamic approach, yet which would fit in perfectly at their Headquarters – a beautiful 300 year old timber barn in Surrey.

The table needed to be large enough to accommodate the scale of meeting typically held at their headquarters, but needed to be designed around two structural, vertical oak beams which could not be moved. Add to this, beautiful 300 year old floorboards which had warped over time and our designers and installers were faced with quite a challenge.

We presented a modern boardroom table that was manufactured around the oak beams. The chrome base to the table reflects the inherent character of the floorboards and really does give the impression that the table is floating, suspended in mid-air between the two structural posts. The centrally lit panel lends an air of hi-tec authority and the white band whilst being extremely striking, aids the use of optical computer mouses. The table also has enough power and data ports to satisfy even the most technologically demanding of meetings.

The client loved the unique blend of the traditional setting and the contemporary table which works fantastically well within the fabric of the building and our table, often described by staff as “a thing of beauty” continues to perform without issue.
