Cabinet Makers

We currently have vacancies for skilled and semi-skilled furniture makers.

Your responsibilities as a furniture maker will include:

• Using various wood machines.
• Using hand and power tools.
• Working with materials such as veneer, solid hard-wood, Solid surface material, laminate and melamine boards.
• Working equally well on your own or with other makers on joint projects.
• Working from technical drawings.

The successful candidate will have:

• Ideally a minimum of five years’ experience working in a similar environment.
• Preferably holding a level two diploma in furniture making or equivalent.
• An ability to work to deadlines with consistent accuracy.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• A positive, reliable and hardworking attitude.

 

All static machines and most handheld electrical machines are supplied but we do expect our makers to be equipped with their own hand tools.

The work is rewarding as we recognise the value of working on a product from the initial cutting stages through to completion of the final piece.

Our standard working week is Tuesday to Friday from 07:30 until 18:00 hours with a half an hour break for lunch together with tea-breaks in both the morning and afternoon.

The majority of your work will be in our purpose-built Northampton Headquarters but on occasion you may be required to work on site on specialised installations.

Overtime at an enhanced rate of pay is generally available.

Holiday entitlement is 20 days per annum accrued on a pro rata basis and bank holidays.
